Feed Me.

You can now buy this wonderfully chic and charitable FEED bag via Bergdorf Goodman. I recently met with a rep and she was carrying this bag, and I was so surprised at how effortlessly chic it looked. Even better, for every bag you buy you actually FEED 2 children in Kenya for a whole year. An impressive amount of help for only $195. Buy here to help.

Palm Springs here I come!

So it is my husbands birthday today and we are celebrating by taking a long weekend and heading to Palm Springs. I want to make sure we go to a few places but I want to stop and see the Ace Hotel that I blogged about a few months back. That is also where these beautiful pics were taken for C Magazine for their Summer 2009 issue. So I will be gone from the blog world on Friday but back with some pics next week. I am so excited...I am already on vacation in my mind!

It's a Bird...

The women behind Juicy Couture are at it again with another new line called Bird.  Definitely a higher end line with a much more refined look than either Juicy Couture or Couture Couture.  Bird is targeting more of a fashion enthusiast that wants everyday looks.  What do you think?

A Room fit for a Tween

So a wonderful girl I work with who makes the most amazing upholstery and pillows told me the other day she was going to break down and hire someone to do her daughter's room.  Being that she herself has an amazing eye, I was shocked.  She did just have her 3rd child and moved her home and her office all at once and she just wanted her daughter's room off of her plate.  Her daughter is at that crucial age where she is no longer a little girl and getting ready to become a full fledged teenager.  I told her I would be more than happy to help her and her tween and we could get started ASAP!

My girlfriend told me her daughter wanted  BRIGHT colors and was leaning towards a more 'pop' look.  However, this is not her mothers style at all.  Her mom has a much more clean, industrial, flea market vibe through the rest of her house and it is GORGEOUS!  Picture, white gray, raw wood, metal and Calcutta everywhere.  So how was I going to entwine the two?  WHITE.  See my beautiful inspiration picture below.

Picture via dress design decor

I will keep her whole room and bedding a crisp, clean white and let the pillows and art be the 'POP' factor.  That way if she decides she ants to follow in her mother's footsteps in a few years, it will only take a few minor changes.  Now I had to decide where to start with the pillow fabrics.  What would appeal to a tween that was full of bright colors, but also appeal to a sophisticated adult?

The lead pattern? Schumachers Chiang Mai Dragon in Aquamarine of course!

Paired with Kelly Wearstler for Schumacher Imperial Trellis in Citrine and Ivory

Celerie Kemble for Schumacher Betwixt in Water and Ivory

Also, Kelly Wearstler for Schumacher Modern Moire in a punchy Tangerine (but it does not show well in pictures) for a twist on traditional.

She already had this wonderful little capiz shell chandelier in the window seat above her built-in desk.

Then for a fun piece of art that will last 'for like ever.'

There was also an old bamboo mirror that she didn't care about keeping but with a few coats of turquoise lacquer, I am sure it will be a show stopper!

I will post pics as I go, so keep an eye out for them!

El Capitan Canyon

Let me just put it out there...I am a city girl.  I like high rises, shopping, and room service.  My husband however, loves the outdoors.  He enjoys nice hotels (thank goodness), but he also appreciates being one with nature.  Don't get me wrong, I love the mountains and the beach, but at no point do I ever want to sleep on the ground.  I did find a way to go camping that may make us both happy...El Capitan Cayon.  Located in Santa Barbara along the Pacific Coast you can camp with some more of the mainstream luxuries that you are used to at home...like a bed.  With either cabins or safari tents available book your luxury wilderness adventure today!

Lighten Up!

I just love this room. The juxtaposition of the scrolly armoire and crystal dripping chandelier with the clean lines of the Saarinen table and the Bertoia chairs. Yum.

Tory Burch Fall 2009

Tory Burch has come a long way.  I feel as though she has really broadened her audience in the last few years but has ultimately kept her vision alive.  Tory Burch describes her newest collection as, "The organic spirit of nature comes together with pop colors, military influences and a touch of eclectic French style for our Fall Collection. Unusual mixes of color with jeweled accents and leather create a look that encourages experimentation and individuality."  Keep it up Tory!

I want this necklace.

Casual and feminine with a little edge.

Classic Tory sequins.

"The Red Coats are coming!"
