I have to say I am beyond thrilled with my new closet. While the pictures may not translate the amount of improvement, let me tell you, there is tons!
I painted (had someone paint) my closet Sherwin Williams Stonecrest Gray. I love this color. It is a HUGE improvement over the cream that was my entire closet, including my rods and shelving. Now everything seems to be visible due to the high contrast.
I also had all of my shelves and rods painted white. Since the rods were painted before I moved in they became scratched and filthy from the hangers sliding across them. Once they got re-painted white, I used clear contact paper and wrapped the rods so the hangers can still glide, but they no longer leave the black marks across them.
Next I organized my wire basket dresser.
I labeled all of my baskets appropriately.
(This led to a labeling frenzy in the rest of the house.)
My new and improved shoe shelves though are my favorite.
They are white, they are wipeable, and they are heaven! I also think that the shoes really POP off of the gray background.
I also finally did something I knew I always needed to do and take pictures of my shoes that are not out. This will make my life MUCH easier.
LOOK!
No jewelry on the floor. My husband appreciates this almost as much as I do.
I can even close the doors to my jewelry armoire.
I bought some inexpensive hooks at Target and they make the perfect way to store and see my larger necklaces.
The top of my jewelry armoire is organized chaos, but I love it.
Even Miss Dorothy Mantooth loves the new closet. I cannot say I blame her.
