Lately I have been drawn to these delicate and lacey screens. Not only can they be functional, but they are beautiful pieces on their own. As a wall, a headboard, or even as a piece of art. Besides, how girly would you feel if you had one and actually used it as a changing screen? I would feel like a young Hollywood starlet from the 50's changing behind the screen and tossing my light as air chiffon dress over the top of it.

In general I am a LOVER of chairs. I would have nothing but chairs in my house if I could. One of my favorites is the Bertoia chair. They are so clean and modern and yet so crisp and classic. They go anywhere and with anything.

Happy New Years Day and 2010!

Furniture STORE Friday 11.6.09

Was I the only one unaware of this beautiful store? I stumbled upon Flamant in Paris while walking down the Rue Saint-Honore. I was floored when I walked in and truly never wanted to leave. This store makes you feel like Parisian-chic living is attainable and at your fingertips. I took several photos of this three story location, but some did not turn out as well as I hoped. I am sad to find out that there are no locations in the US at the moment but I am hoping that will change. They also had a beautiful book that I wanted to purchase. It was sadly so early in our day and I really did not want to carry around a copy, or three, for the rest of the day so I had to pass. I thought for sure it would be on Amazon, but no such luck. I am thinking I may be making a long-distance call to Paris in the near future and trying to get one shipped to me. It would be well worth the trouble!

I am always surprised when people do not consider window treatments a VITAL part of a room. I find myself having to talk clients into them most of the time, and then reassuring them that the cost is worth it. One item you can never go wrong with are classic white window panels. They really make any room seem crisp and clean or dreamy and soft. I have them in my bedroom and every once in awhile I am tempted to add something to them. However, look at the pictures below and you can see why I always resist!
