Seattle Nuptials

A glimpse at us getting ready for the big day.

The Gift of Glassybaby

You always forget that when you are in a wedding that while you are busy always thinking about the Bride and Groom that they are busy thinking about you too.

I felt that the gifts to our parents and bridal party were actually one of the hardest decisions to make.  

What does everyone want or need?

What will remind them of the special day they shared with you?

What might they appreciate for years to come?

Well, Paula nailed it by giving everybody something that she wanted...

Glassybaby.

I was excited to find out that Lollypop was coming home with me!

Four Years Ago Today

Reminiscing

With all of the weddings I have been in and one of my best friends coming up around the time of my four year anniversary, I decided to pull up my wedding video.

Back Just in Time

I may be back from Mexico, but I am not headed home quite yet.  I am off to celebrate my BFF, Miss Paula Jeans, impending nuptials by heading up to her Bachelorette party in Santa Barbara.

Here we are at my Bachelorette a few years ago.  This night ended up with spilled ice cream and dipping our tired feet in the pool at the Viceory in Palm Springs.

I am domestically challenged when it comes to the kitchen.  

I always have been.  I am trying to change but it is not easy.

Between all of the tools that I HAD TO HAVE that I registered for and have remained fairly untouched, and Pinterest posting amazing pictures and recipes, there might be hope.

My name is Rebecca and I am a TV junkie.

I cannot help it. I was raised that way. How many young children went to sleep watching Maude? Two - my brother and I.

Anyways, I have started watching another new show and I am becoming addicted.

Amsale Girls

Amsale Girls follows the bridal consultants in the Amsale showroom in NYC.

You may be thinking to yourself, "This sounds just like Say Yes to the Dress."

It does, but its not.

You do not get as much backstory on the clients and you really get more info on the consultants. It is not quite as crazy and as my mother pointed out, there is no token gay man helping dress the brides.

It is a an interesting look into the bridal world AND you get to see the hundreds of gorgeous Amsale dresses up close and personal.

The Canary Hotel

I spent this past weekend in Santa Barbara for a wedding that I didn't just attend, I officiated at! It was crazy, busy, wonderful, cold and amazing all at the same time.

For the weekend we stayed at the Canary Hotel.

It is everything you want when you are in Santa Barbara.

The lobby is earthy and perfectly worn in with leather and subtle earth toned colors.

The tapestry on the wall was picture perfect, but my favorite was when we got off the elevator and onto our floor...

Turquoise grasscloth!!!

The gorgeous Wisteria mirror that I have had saved in my inspiration images forever was a lovely treat too.

The Ikat fabrics framed on the walls were amazing and they were in every nook and cranny of the halls.

While I LOVED the belt like row of beading on my wedding dress,

I cannot help but think what I would have done had this real belt been around.

I Do...

So this past weekend I had a whirlwind trip up to Santa Barbara for business...sort of.

I was asked to marry my friends!

They are getting married at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse and I had to fill out paperwork and get sworn in.

I am afraid I will laugh through the whole thing because it is sort of crazy and I laughed through my vows at my wedding. Hysterically laughed. (My husband kept telling me to breathe.)

Anyways, here is the beautiful courthouse where it will take place and the Mural Room where the ceremony will actually occur. Now I just have to start practicing because April 9th is sneaking up on me.

Flowers for Me

So, I love when my husband gets me flowers. Love it. The gesture is lovely and greatly appreciated.

Sadly though, I am a demanding wife, and I only want the flowers I want.

How do I tell the hubby I love the flowers, but do not ever get me red roses again?

With my birthday in a week, I figured I better get on it.

Peonies...who doesn't want a bushel of peonies?

Burgers love for Carrie brought back the sweetness of the perfectly pink carnation.

Dahlias area always a good choice.

Lisianthus always add to any arrangement.

Or stick with what you know I like...there were 800 million amethyst purple hydrangeas at our wedding.

*hint, hint hubby*

It's That Time of Year

With the holidays come engagements!

Rings are appearing on left hands all over town and I could not be happier. It is already looking like it will be another successful wedding season next year.
