I Want it to Look Like Christmas

So even though it is 100+ degrees again in the OC, I am dreaming of fall.  I am waiting for it to show up in any form.  The changing color of leaves, not having to use my AC (which is still partially broken) or even a gust of wind.

Anyways, the weather needs to catch up with me because I am already perusing Christmas ornaments. 

I was very excited when I found these Confetti System x West Elm ones too!

At $12 a pop I think they are worth it.

I can only hope that the new West Elm opening at South Coast Plaza will open soon and will have a few of these in stock!

The Reveal

For the steal of deal of $229 it is dreamy.

I was concerned about the word "chenille" however, it doesnt read grandma, it just make the juxtaposition of the just even more amazing and softer. Dorothy loves it.

Speaking of my furry child, I finally got here amazing Carter Kustera silhouette framed.

West Elm'd

So I bit the bullet and I bought this West Elm rug without seeing it. luckily it is only being shipped from Santa Monica, so hopefully I won't have to wait to long before it arrives.

A sea of blue.

Denim and Jute...seems like a dream. Especially for $179.

While I was perusing the site I also stumbled across these.

Washed linen and cotton pillows in an ombre of colors. I got all of the purple and blue ones and hopefully they will look like a dip-dye of color on my sofa. These are not returnable, but my mom and I could not help ourselves. I mean, $9.99 + 15% off + free shipping? Why didn't they just send them to me for free?

New Flooring = Heaven

Well, I was hoping to reveal this once my rug came in, but when it arrived, I hated it. I could not wait any longer and now I am in search of a rug for my living room. This is where you come in.

Without further ado...

My new wood floors!

In this picture you can also see that I re-did my fireplace with calacata marble. LOVE. It is so much better than the hideous pinky-peachy porcelain junk with thick grout lines that was there before.

I also re-did my baseboards and had my painter re-gloss my front door black.

It is better than I ever imagined.

My new, high, and super clean baseboards.

Who knew they would make me as excited as my floors?

Anyways, I need a rug. My little Dorothy Mantooth is concerned every time she jumps down off the sofa, so we need to correct this immediately. Since this did not work, I am looking for new options.

I found some at West Elm, but what are your thoughts?

I was so bummed, I think this would be comfy, but they are sold out in the size I need.

Any thoughts on this?

Then I thought this would allow my walls and big, gorgeous painting to pop. Or is it boring?

Your Furry Friend

So, what do you guys think of this trend?

I mean, I know most love a good sheepskin from Ikea, but now it is getting even more intense and we have moved into Mongolian Lamb. Everything from pillows to bedspreads and even J. Crew has pushed it further with vests and purses.

Design on a Dime

I know that we all can get sucked into HGTV design shows.  However, most of the time all I think about is that the budget is not really the budget due to the FREE labor.  You can do a lot for $1000 when you have a skilled craftsman working the power saw for you for free!  So you can imagine my shock when I saw this article that was linked from I SUWANNEE to the LA Times featuring Kristan Cunningham of HGTV's Design on a Dime.  She is currently living in a rental and needed to fix it up to her taste without investing a lot in it.  Something that we can all relate to. I was shocked to see the gorgeous creation that she calls home and the TINY budget that was used.  Read more here.

I have a smaller version of this West Elm rug in my kitchen and I just love it.

The lamp on the Master Bath counter felt so lavish to me!  I cannot believe I had not thought of it before!
