Living At the Beach

I have been obsessed with having a large beach photo in my home since I saw the photo Nicole over at Sketch 42 posted from the Pulse Art Fair.

Art by Christian Chaize

I recently saw this pic and it reignited my love for this idea.

The idea of the blue of the ocean and that happy feeling that you get when you think about laying on the white sand would probably make me feel calmer when I was in my own home.
I am a bit of a worrier.

Now you can have the same feel in your home via Z Gallerie.

Take Your Medicine

Guess what will be at my house when I get home today?

The dreamiest cuff / sculpture by Debra Baxter that I have ever seen.

Pictures via Debra Baxter

I first wrote about Debra Baxter back in May and then I proceeded to send her gratuitous fan mail ever since.  I was also lucky enough to meet up with her and see many of her fabulous jewels when I was in Seattle recently.

She has become a wonderful new friend and was surprisingly never scared of me...we even discussed this when we met.

If you want inspiration take the time to look at all of her sculptures and jewels HERE.  You will not be disappointed.

Oh, Bill.

I love Bill Murray.

LOVE.

So when I found this print I nearly fell over.

I think this will be finding its way home to myself and a few others I know.

Lazy Art

There is no longer a rush to getting your art hung on the walls, just lean it on the floor.

Done.

Underwater Ink

My brothers' girlfriend pinned an image the other night that left me doing google searches on my phone, in bed, in the dark of night.

Underwater Ink Photography

Gorgeous.

The first three are from a series called Aqueous Fluoreau by Mark Mawson.

I personally want to know what and where to find this ink, because I want to use these day-glo colors to write all over the place.

The pictures below are by an Italian graphic designer named Alberto Seveso.  His series is called 'a due Colori.'

It is shocking to me that anyone thought to photograph ink at high speed as it was being mixed in water.  Although I am glad someone did.

What is your favorite?

What's In Your Drink?

What does your CHAMPAGNE look like?

THIS!

My brothers wonderful girlfriend alerted me to this wonderful site the other day and I became enthralled with it.

BevShots takes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and puts them under a crazy microscope and photographs them.

Would you have imagined that a VODKA TONIC looked like this:

Now your favorite beverages can also become your favorite pieces of art!

GIN

TEQUILA

Personally I think any of these or the thousands on their website would be both beautiful and a conversation piece over a fabulous bar cart.

You can get prints, coasters, flasks and even scarves!

I think I really need this Tequila scarf.

I Am A Work of Art

Look at the new lovely I added to my dining room library.

Look closer.

Yes. This is my husband, myself and our friends Mike and Kelly Walsh from my BFF's wedding in September. We did some of those photo booth snapshots and I love them. I never know what to do with all of those random little pictures though.

Well, I got the opportunity from Easy Canvas Prints to make one into an 8x10 photo on canvas.

I LOVE IT.

I was trying to decide on what picture to use thinking that it needed to be something nice or meaningful and then when I saw that their website not only allows you to link up to facebook but then will also tell you the quality of the photo you uploaded I was excited to see if any of our photo booth shots would make it.

I picked this one because this is me. I always have my mouth hanging open. I cannot help it. SO unattractive, but it is my forte.

Some of the best parts about using Easy Canvas Prints to put your photos on canvas were:

You were able to choose between color, sepia and black an white - I obviously went with black and white.

They gave you options on the thickness of your canvas - I chose the standard depth because I was leaning it on my shelf.

You got to choose how the edge was finished off and they they did a 3D rendering to show you your options - I kept the edges simple with just a clean white border.

It was really wonderful. You can try it too. If you "LIKE" Easy Canvas Prints on Facebook your first order is 50% off and gets free shipping. With the holidays coming up it would be a wonderful gift for a friend or family member.

Art Flip Flop

Since I got new artwork for my living room thanks to Nicole over at Sketch42, my beautiful Paris map that I liked was left without a home.

Until I decided that maybe it could find a new home.

Riding High

I was shocked when I walked into the mall by my house yesterday and saw this in Z Galleries window...
Picture via Z Gallerie

I could not believe it.

What was even more surprising is how much I liked it! It was even large - 47" x 47" - BUT it was $400. I thought that was pretty pricey coming from a chain store.

What do you guys think?
