Trash the Dress Shoot

So, first I need to clear something up.  I was unable to bring myself to actually 'TRASH' my dress.  I just love it much too much.  So, I am going with what Dana calls it...a Day After session.  With that said, I am once again in L-O-V-E with my photographs.  It is not a surprise, after all Dana and Jeremy are only the best photographers in the world.  That is not an exaggeration either.  I adore them and all of their work.  Here are a few of my favorites, but PLEASE go to their website to see more!

Dana and Jeremy were also amazing enough to get me onto the beautiful and wonderful Southern Weddings Blog...check it out here and here!

Get Lost in a Book

I had a wonderful Easter weekend, and with it being extra long and gorgeous weather it was the perfect time to just lay around reading a good book.  Bookshelves can be just about as beautiful as any art or piece of furniture.  Just take a look...

I hope that this weekend will be productive both personally and business wise...a girl can dream!

Turquoise & White

Ever since seeing Ms. Eva Mendes at the Golden Globes this year, her image has not strayed far from my memory.  I loved how clean, classic, and chic she looked in that beautiful white dress and glam necklace!  I now want an entire white house with pops of turquoise just like her fabulous ensemble (by Rachel Zoe I am sure) from that evening!

I am sure these painted turquoise floors are not practical or forgiving, but they certainly make me want to be in this kitchen!

Purpley-blue hydrangeas...my favorite.

Eric Cohler

I was lucky enough to go and listen to Eric Cohler speak the other week at the Laguna Design Center and I was enthralled from the moment he began talking.  He was not only knowledgeable, entertaining, and witty, but he was willing to share the his business plan and where he finds his inspiration (ART).  From the Crate and Barrel table that fit the space perfectly to the $10,000 lamps that made the room, he truly earns his title as the 'mixmaster' of interior design.  If you cannot afford to hire Eric Cohler yourself, you can certainly achieve his design sensability in your home via Circa Lighting and his textile line for Kravet.  If you ever have a chance to go see him speak, RUN and get a seat in the front row.  You will not be disappointed!

Just a little house in the country.

I just am dying over this shot...gorgeous!

I love how he hung all of the art gallery style up the stairs and it does not seem even the least bit overwhelming with the runner.

The $899 bed that he paired with the $10,000 dollar lamps.

Truly I just love the view in this one...how can you even notice anything else?

I love that there is no color, but the map wallcovering adds all of the detail to this clean bathroom.

Windows

I think that everyone can agree that windows are sometimes what make the room.  The light, the view, and the breeze they let in.  They can really set the stage for some beautiful interiors and even be the inspiration.  I happen to love windows...particularly the very commercial store-front looking, clean, and large ones.  If I could build my dream house I would probably have more windows than walls, but you can see why below!

Closet Envy

Even though my husband was smart enough to realize that I would need the ENTIRE Master Closet, I still find myself wondering what it would be like to have one of the beauties below!

Nicky Hiltons closet

Paris Hiltons closet - I ADORE this mirrored island

Mariah Careys closet would be like shopping in your own personal store!

J. Crews Jenna Lyons closet
Shouldn't every closet have a fireplace?

Relaxing Weekend!

I hope to be lounging about this weekend, but I am not sure how much I will actually get to do.  After all of the parties from last weekend, I have a lot to catch up on!

bettershelter

bettershelter was actually discovered by my mother, so I must give credit where credit is due.  However, they are absolutely amazing!  Founded by Steve Jones and Peter Zehdner, both veterans of the surf and skate industry, their newest project 12@Elden looks to be as successful as their careers.  The bettershelter philosophy revolves around the idea of filling a void in the Southern California housing market.  They believe that there are young, design driven individuals that are looking to settle down and cannot afford housing that appeals to their design aesthetic.  That is where bettershelter comes in.  They set out to buy old bungalows and renovate them with not only style, but also a green sensibility.  After a complete and meticulous overhaul bettershelter promises you a lovely, affordable, "Coastal Modern" home that you can enjoy in the heart of Southern California.

Each home has a private, open space.
