The SAG Awards 2012 - Dress Debacle?

Did you watch the SAG Awards last night?

I DVR'd them and then watched them in about 20 minutes.

While there were a few winners in the dress department I was struck when I saw what Kelly Osbourne was wearing.

White Badgley Mischka.

I really thought I had seen this dress before on Keira Knightley. So, of course, I googled it immeadiately.

Keira wore her VERY SIMILAR Valentino number to the Golden Globes in 2006.

I think Badgely Mischka might have taken a little inspiration from Valentino know?

I really thought we might have another Kirsten Dunst / Reese Whiterspoon dress debacle like we did in 2006.

Kirsten wore the vintage Chanel in 2003, while Reese wore the same dress in 2006. The minute Reese walked the red carpet I told my mom that someone had already worn that dress before. I was thrilled when the next day there were a few articles about it.

Either way, all four women looked amazing.

What I Wore - Turquoise Cords

Even thought it was 80+ degrees yesterday, only a few days before it was cool enough for the only pair of cords I have.

Necklace - Ann Taylor

BTW, my new favorite thing...wearing my yellow sapphire ring high up on my pointer finger. That extra sparkle makes me happy.

The Incident

So on Friday night this is what I was doing with my sweet baby girl Dorothy Mantooth...putting socks on her and making her pose for pictures.

I mean, you can see she is pretty happy with it.

On Saturday night here is what she looked like.

My poor sweet little girl was bit by another dog and it sent her to the ER on Saturday night. She had to have stitches and this huge bandage that made her look like she was wearing a TIGHT turquoise vest.

The even worse part...I was off to Scottsdale for work bright and early the next morning. When I tell you I cried for pretty much all of Saturday and Sunday, including at the airport security when they asked me how I was, I mean it. I was afraid security was thinking that I was trying to smuggle something onto the plane and I was crying because I got caught.

I made my husband stay home from work an take care of our child. On Monday she was allowed to have the bandages removed because the wounds were done draining. I was thrilled to see her furry body exposed on monday night when I came home.

So on Tuesday Dorothy came to work with me.

I set up her bed and made her a "designer dog" for the day. She greeted clients and the Fed Ex man in between getting treats. Like everyone, she was happy when the work day was over and she could go home and relax from her tough day.

I cannot wait for her stitches to be removed and for her to be off her medicine probably more than she can.

What I Wore - Picture Perfect

Work has seriously been super hectic which is great, but makes it hard when you have to be out of the office all day. Even if it is for something fun!

Last Wednesday our office had JL Photographers come and shoot some of our latest projects. I knew it would be a somewhat easy day, but I still would need to be comfy enough to run around and adjust things for shots if necessary.

Red Carpet Room 1.16.2012

So I thought about listing the multiple dresses and ladies that I thought looked stunning last night - Mila Kunis, Laura Dern, Heidi Klum - I also thought about listing the ones that missed...yet again. While in my daily life I tend to be filled with hate - yes, its true - I try to keep my blog happy and a happy outlet rather than another stressful place.

I decided to pick out two of my favorites and do an oldie but a goodie - Red Carpet Rooms.

Julianne Moore in Chanel

Chanel can do no wrong and Julianne tends to know how to play up her hair and make it work for her. The details of the black Chanel dress and that hit of emerald green from those gorgeous drop earrings were spot on.

Very similar to the Soho House.

Charlize Theron in Dior

Now Charlize usually picks out a little avant garde pieces to wear but every once in awhile they really work for her. I do not know if it was the softness of the material and the fold in her blush colored dress or that perfect amount of sparkle from her crystal from her headband, but I loved it. This was much better than that dress that made her look like she was wearing cupcakes on her chest from last year.

The softness and lightness were matched by the light and detail in this beautiful room.

So the question is...do you agree with me?

Birthday Balloons

So come March it will be my 30th birthday and my blogs 3rd birthday.

My husband has started questioning my desires for such a milestone and I am not helping too much because I am not sure that I need anything big or special.

Although, I would not mind coming home to a large amount of balloons, or a few large balloons, or a room full of confetti. *wink*

Or for a real treat he could surprise me on the day I always say I do not care about with a bundle of hearts. When you are about to turn 30, you can always use a pick me up.

What I Wore - Eggplant Pants and a Matte Balck Watch

The weather is being a tad bit ridiculous right now.

I wake up and it is 40 degrees and freezing and by noon it is almost 80 degrees out and I am sweating.

Nothing short of annoying.

So this is what my Monday looked like.

Super blonde hair out of nowhere, but I am loving it.

Inside My Instagram

It is Monday morning and I am tired even though I had a long weekend. I never seem to be rested enough to start Monday bright and cheery, so here is a little peek at the happy things that occurred on my Instagram.

A peek at some amazing cabinetry with lights that I want in my own home.

New Years Day dinner at my parents house complete with my Grandmothers china, my moms silver, and the peace napkins that I made for my mother.

To wish my cousins a fond farewell, I added a little sparkle to my casual outfit courtesy of this knot via BCBG.

Dorothy had a wonderful week de-stuffing every toy she received at Christmas.

My Bearded Lady.

Last but not least, the newest addition to my parents family...Zoe.

The newest rescue that has stepped right into our hearts and our ever expanding animal family.

Tie on Tai Jewelry

If you follow me on Instagram then you already now that my office just got in an amazing shipment of Tai Jewelry.

I have lusted after these Swarovski encrusted bracelets and necklaces at Neiman Marcus and Calypso for months. So when the small but bountiful box arrived at our office it was like Christmas all over again.

Crosses, Peace Signs and Evil Eyes! Oh my!

I think these look great all stacked up like a delicate neck party.

What's In Your Drink?

What does your CHAMPAGNE look like?

THIS!

My brothers wonderful girlfriend alerted me to this wonderful site the other day and I became enthralled with it.

BevShots takes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and puts them under a crazy microscope and photographs them.

Would you have imagined that a VODKA TONIC looked like this:

Now your favorite beverages can also become your favorite pieces of art!

GIN

TEQUILA

Personally I think any of these or the thousands on their website would be both beautiful and a conversation piece over a fabulous bar cart.

You can get prints, coasters, flasks and even scarves!

I think I really need this Tequila scarf.

What I Wore - Tory Burch Heaven

2011 ended on a high note because on Christmas morning I opened a gift from my wonderful parents and my dream came true!

The Tory Burch jacket that I had whined about HERE and HERE was in my hands. I pretty much jumped up and down and put it on immediately before deciding that the household of 12 people, 1 baby, 5 dogs and 2 cats might cause it some damage and I took it off put it in its box and relocated it to a high shelf for the rest of the day.

However, a few days later when my husband and I were invited to sit at the Chef's Table in the kitchen of a wonderful Italian restaurant with friends and clients, and I knew that my beautiful Tory Burch jacket would be making its first outing.

Jacket - Tory Burch
Blouse - Free People
Jeans - Gap
Shoes - Zara
Jewelry - None required with this gorgeous jacket!
