Peace, Pearls, and Perfection

This was one of the most special presents I got for my 30th birthday.

I love family heirlooms (jewelry most of all) and this piece will forever mean the world to me.

For my birthday my parents took pearls from each of my grandmothers and then bought this beautiful diamond peace clasp and had them turned into one gorgeous bracelet.

At some point my mother realized that her mother and my fathers mother both had almost identical 1940's Mikimoto pearls. While pearls are beautiful, each strand was very delicate and not quite our style. That is when my most clever mother took them to her jeweler and had her weave them together and add the clasp.

The result, something that is not only gorgeous but that has a wonderful meaning and sentiment behind it. Even better, it was placed in the original 1940's Mikimoto box that the pearls originally came in.

Inside My Instagram

It is Monday morning and I am tired even though I had a long weekend. I never seem to be rested enough to start Monday bright and cheery, so here is a little peek at the happy things that occurred on my Instagram.

A peek at some amazing cabinetry with lights that I want in my own home.

New Years Day dinner at my parents house complete with my Grandmothers china, my moms silver, and the peace napkins that I made for my mother.

To wish my cousins a fond farewell, I added a little sparkle to my casual outfit courtesy of this knot via BCBG.

Dorothy had a wonderful week de-stuffing every toy she received at Christmas.

Last but not least, the newest addition to my parents family...Zoe.

The newest rescue that has stepped right into our hearts and our ever expanding animal family.

I went into a full allergy tailspin. It was awful.

The worst part was that Sunday was going to be busy.
