Ace Hotel - Palm Springs
As I have eluded to before, ever so slightly, I feel like I need a getaway. Being that it was 90+ degrees here over the weekend, my first thought was how lovely Palm Springs would be. I was browsing the internet looking for an interesting place to stay, when I stumbled upon the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. New, different and the fact that their Palm Springs location was built on the ruins of an old 1965 Howard Johnson Hotel I was hooked. Take a peak for yourself...

It would be nice to getaway.
If I could, I would would go on a mini-vacation to Palm Springs this weekend and stay at the Viceroy. While there, I would lay by the pool, get tan, and drink the day away. Sadly, that will not be happening. However, I was lucky enough at one point to do just that. I even had Dana and Jeremy Photography shoot my engagement pictures there. You can get away with anything when you say, "Well, it's for my wedding."

Rashida Jones and I should be friends.
Besides the fact that Rashida Jones is funny, pretty, and knows John Krasinski (Jim from the Office), she obviously has great style. So with all of those in mind, I realized that we need to be friends. When we do become BFFs, maybe I will get to spend some fun girl time in her very girly and serene little NYC Studio. A girl can dream, can't she?

Floorplan
(this is what I miss most about Domino)
I love that the bed doubles as seating for when she wants to have a large gathering.

So feminine and yet still very functional.

I absolutely adore the pop of BLACK via the Pantone Chairs. Every space needs a little black.

Plenty of storage

The Devil Wears Prada, Chanel, Hermes...
Last night when I got in bed to go to sleep, I stumbled upon The Devil Wears Prada on television. Never good. I cannot resist that movie and all of the amazing eye candy that is in it. The clothes and the scenery just get me every time. So, of course, I was up exceptionally late but I thought I would share some of my favorite fashion moments.

Yes, those are 'THE' Chanel boots.

One of many amazing Chanel necklaces.

Winter white and a Nancy Gonzalex Croc bag...yum.

So I just thought I would show you an interesting comparison between Anna Wintour's office and Miranda Priestly's office. Isn't it odd how even the mirror is the same shape? I wonder...

A little pied-a-terre in the BIG NYC
So what are the chances that you will find a beautiful home in the perfect location in NYC that is also big enough for all of your things? The chances are tiny, just like this little 700 square foot pied-a-terre that Stephanie Snyder (who works in commercial real estate) fell in love with. However once she saw the small balcony that looked over Park Avenue, she knew she had to make it work. She teamed up with designer John Barman to make her pint size pad feel bigger than life.

The dark foyer that is paired with mirrors that sets it apart from the rest of the home.

The colors in the pillows and the art make the clean living room come to life.

Her office area that has my DREAM chairs! Everywhere I see them they are just labeled vintage. Anyone know where I can find them?

The beautiful bedroom with the mirrored wall and soffit that directly ties into the built-in storage. You have gotta LOVE that lucite chair and the light fixture!

Would you...
wear a short dress on your wedding day?
I have to admit that during my exhaustive dress search most of the dresses that I was leaning towards happened to be short. They all seemed to be more chic and less 'high school prom dress' than all of the full-length dresses I tried on. At the end of the day, I could not get past that this would be the only time I would wear a long, white dress and would I regret it? Or would my, at the time, soon-to-be husband be disappointed? At the end f the day the Priscilla of Boston dress that I wore was perfect for my wedding at the museum. However, the short Priscilla of Boston dresses below almost made me change my mind.
