Bedtime in the White House

So I think that everyone was excited when we heard that Michelle Obama picked Michael Smith to help re-design the White House. Well, my Hickory Chair rep. came to my office today to update some items in our catalogue and fabrics, and while there he divulged this wonderful piece of gossip! Michael Smith has ordered all the beds for the White House from them! He shared what the new First Family will be sleeping on for the next four years.

The Chelsea Bed in size Queen.

We are guessing that this bed will probably be in the Guest Room for the Grandparents when they come to visit Malia and Sasha.
Two Soho Beds in size Queen.

I am guessing that both Malia and Sasha will be sleeping in style in their new fully upholstered beds. I have done this bed for a client before and really the picture does not do it justice!

The Candler Bed in size King.

The new President and his wife will be sleeping in this beautiful new style that was designed by Suzanne Kasler for Hickory Chair. I am currently suggesting this bed to a client for her guest room. I think whatever is good enough for the President is probably good enough for her guests!

The real question at this point is what beautiful fabrics did Michael Smith put on all of these upholstered beds? Hopefully we will soon find out!

My New Love is Luggage

Due to an extra abundance of birthday money, I found myself wandering the mall with my Mother and Aunt the other day. We decided to take a spin through Tory Burch where I did not think I would find anything that I wanted or needed, although I was not expecting to find these perfect little flats. The most gorgeous and supple pair of luggage colored Revas. They were beautiful and they only had two left in my size (of course). I do not think I have taken them off since I got them as they go with absolutely everything!

My new Reva's in color Moccasin. My husband even loves them. The color reminds him of a wonderfully worn in baseball mitt.

Now only if I had this beautiful Chloe Heloise Braided Hobo in Nutmeg...

maybe I could look as chic as this girl...

who probably lives in this wonderful home and lounges in her luggage colored leather sofa!

Trina Turk for Schumacher

As most of you already know, Trina Turk has just released her new line of indoor/outdoor fabrics for Schumacher.  They are bright, bold, and beautiful just like the Trina Turk clothing line.  The best part is that they are indoor/outdoor.  Although they are not recommended for full sun exposure as they only have  a light fastness of up to 500 hours, it would be worth carrying the pillows in and out for the Palm Springs feel they would add to any backyard.  Sadly, I will not get to experience Palm Springs first hand to view Trina's line at her residential store out in the desert.  Anyone who goes, please let me know what wonders I missed!

Entering the world of blogging

So for my first post what could be more appropriate than sharing a few of my favorite entryways?

Please enjoy.

I cannot help but love this turquoise door!

Gray, yellow, and white = classic with a twist.

I want a zebra rug.

I love this mirrored panel door.

You have to love the classic Imperial Trellis wallcovering from Kelly Wearstler!
